I have always loved the bases of Guerlain. Although in recent years they have focused more on throwing bases with a second skin effect – which is something we love of course – missed that juicy finish or glow in its bases that leaves the skin so beautiful.
Now the firm tempts us with a new base, L’Essentiel, which looks very good both for its ingredients and for the finish it promises.
L’Essentiel is a base that is designed to make the skin look much more refined, fresh and bright. Its texture is liquid and according to the signature very comfortable on the skin, it also blends perfectly with the skin leaving a natural and luminous appearance.
Of course, its coverage does not seem to be too high something that has been quite usual in this type of bases. On the other hand they manage to leave a much more beautiful skin, with natural light and although its coverage is not complete, it will perfect the skin and reduce imperfections such as the appearance of pores or pigmentation according to studies provided by the brand itself.
Its formula is very interesting since it contains 97% of ingredients of natural origin. One of them is the Yacon juice, from which prebiotics are extracted to improve the skin’s defenses and balance. It also contains white cocoa beans that improve hydration and extracts of red algae to protect the skin from contamination. And even the different shades have been achieved based on minerals.
In principle this base seems very interesting, its formula allows the skin to breathe, be protected and hydrated, without forgetting that it will look much prettier without giving up a natural finish.
The packaging has been designed by the artist Mathieu Lehanneur, a glass container (careful with falls) in round lines and a dispenser. Its price is 55 euros and is available in 30 shades.
